Why are Vedic rituals important?Vedic rituals or yagya forms the core of the entire Hindu civilisation. In modern times, we have lost and diluted the importance of our traditional rituals. Our ancient Rishis understood long ago that the universe we experience is consciousness. Vedic rituals go to the heart of shifting consciousness, maintaining our rituals is the maintainence of our dharma. Every problem we face in life finds its root in consciousness. Vedic rituals are the only system which are as sophiscated and precisely outlined. On a deeper level, Vedic rituals connect you to the deity and clear your karma. Overall Vedic rituals involve the Sankalp of Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu and hence uplift the consciousness of the entire planet.

Do I still get the same benefits for arranging Vedic rituals for myself if I am not in Kashi?Yes absolutely! This is what Karmakand is. This is why we have Karmakandi Brahmins who dedicate their life to studying Vedas and maintaining ritualistic tradition which they do on your behalf. Our scriptures state that you get the same benefit from the ritual when the pandit does it for you in your name and gotra. Of course, if you can be present in kashi and sit with the pandit, we can arrange that for you and that is the supreme. But even if you are not in Kashi you still get ALL the benefits of your ritual.

What do I do if I don’t know my Gotra?Generally, a persons name and gotra is needed for a Vedic ritual which the pandit recites in the Sankalp. However if you don’t know your gotra, in general ‘Kashyap’ is taken as the gotra

Jyotish is described as the eyes of Ved Narayana and hence is a guiding light that can’t be replaced. At the same time, I take a self empowered and highly responsible viewpoint of Jyotish. It is not something to be approached with an attitude of fear or dependency, but rather to help you remove karmic patterns from their root, solve problems and align to the optimal and highest version of yourself. Vedic rituals have enormous power.
